Who we are
QuoteMeter is a free service that passes a homeowner's job request to one local trade business. It is run by Inno Creative Pty Ltd, ABN 51 701 297 627, a Queensland company (we, us). We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Contact us at info@innocreative.com.au or through the form at the bottom of this page.
How we make money
The trade business we send your request to pays us a fee for the introduction. That fee is how QuoteMeter stays free for you. We send each request to one business only.
What we collect
- Your name, mobile number, email address and postcode.
- Your answers about the job.
- Your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit, and the ad or link that brought you here.
- A record of what you agreed to: the exact wording, the time, your IP address and your browser.
- Texts and opt-outs you send us, and any call-back time you choose.
- Call logs for calls made through our forwarding numbers: the time, the numbers, whether the call connected and how long it lasted. We do not record calls.
- Anything you write to us.
How we collect it
We collect it from you when you fill in a form, and from your browser through cookies, the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API when they are switched on. We check that phone numbers and email addresses are real, using our own checks and outside checking services. We collect call logs from our phone provider.
Why we collect it
- To check your request is real.
- To send it to one business that covers your area.
- To text you that business's name and help you arrange a call.
- To handle questions, complaints and disputes.
- To charge the business for the introduction.
- To stop spam and fraud.
- To measure and improve our ads and our service.
- To meet our legal obligations.
If you don't give us your name, mobile number and postcode, we can't send your request.
Who we give it to
- One trade business. We send it your name, mobile number, email, postcode and job answers. It uses them to contact you about the job, and its own privacy obligations apply. You can ask the business, or us, where your details came from.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). We send scrambled (hashed) contact details and browser information so Meta can tell us which ads led to requests. Meta can match this to its accounts.
- Our service providers: Amazon Web Services (hosting and database, in Sydney), our phone and text message provider, and our phone and email checking providers.
- Anyone the law requires us to give it to.
If no business covers your area
If we have no business for your job in your area, we do not pass your details to anyone. We keep your request for up to 14 days in case one becomes available, and we ask you again before passing it on. After 14 days we delete it.
Overseas
Meta and our phone, text message and checking providers may hold or process information in the United States, and Meta also in Ireland. We use providers that have contracts in place to protect it.
Automated decisions
Our systems automatically decide whether a request passes our checks (a real number, a real email, a valid postcode, not a duplicate, not a bot) and which business in your area receives it. These decisions use your contact details, postcode, answers, and device and network details. If you think a check got it wrong, contact us and a person will review it.
Texts and calls
By sending a request you agree that the business and QuoteMeter may call, text and email you about it for 3 months. To stop texts from us, use the opt-out link in any text or the form at the bottom of this page. We stop within one business day and tell the business to stop too. You can also tell the business directly.
How long we keep it
- Request details, texts and call logs: 2 years after we send your request, so we can deal with complaints and disputes.
- The record of what you agreed to, and the record of which business received your request: 7 years, to meet tax rules and to prove consent if it is ever questioned.
- Requests we could not match: up to 14 days.
- Opt-out requests: for as long as we operate, so we can keep honouring them.
After that we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We check your identity first and reply within 30 days. There is no fee.
Security
Data is stored in Australia and encrypted, and only people who need it can access it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Complaints
Email info@innocreative.com.au. We confirm we got it within 7 days, look into it, and give you a written answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
