Why one business, not five

Some quote sites hand your number to a handful of companies at once, and every one of them rings you.

When a business covers your area, your request goes to that one business only. If you want a second quote after that, it's up to you.

Good to know

  • QuoteMeter does not do plumbing, gas, electrical, air conditioning, roofing or building work and is not licensed to.
  • It passes your request to one independent business that holds its own licence and pays QuoteMeter for the referral.
  • That business quotes and contracts with you directly.
  • Check its licence before you agree to anything.

  • If a rebate might apply, the installer works out whether you're eligible.

Is QuoteMeter free?

Yes. You pay QuoteMeter nothing. The business that gets your request pays us a fee for the introduction.

Why only one business?

So you get one call about the job instead of several. If you'd like another quote after that, you're free to look around.

Does QuoteMeter do the work?

No. QuoteMeter is a matching service, not a tradesperson. We hold no trade licence and do none of the work. Your agreement for the job is with the business that quotes you.

How do you check the businesses?

We check each business's licence on the state register before it receives a request. Licences can change, so check it yourself with your state's licensing body before you agree to anything.

When will I hear back?

If a licensed business covers your area, it will call you between 9am and 8pm on weekdays or 9am and 5pm on Saturdays. We can't promise how quickly a business will call. If we can't match you, we won't pass your details to anyone and we'll delete your request within 14 days.

Can I ask for a quote if I rent?

Yes. Just keep in mind the business may need the owner's OK before any work goes ahead.

What happens to my details?

One business gets them so it can contact you about this job. QuoteMeter keeps a record of your request. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest.
